I recently installed CentOS on my laptop to be my development machine on Lenovo Y300-9449-44R. This machine is using Intel GMA graphics card. In CentOS, resolution adjustment is not currently supported so it only works with 800x600 display resolution.
The solution I found is from this site http://www.geocities.com/stomljen/ which is easier rather than compiling the drivers from the source intel has an open source release for this driver. Using this patch is actually easier and more hassle free down compiling the drivers from the source.
